Privacy and security

Your books, and no one else's.

A ledger belongs to one person. There is no sharing, no ads and nothing to sell.

  • One owner

    Each ledger has a single owner account. No shared logins, no data brokers, no ads.

  • Passkeys and 2FA

    Sign in with a passkey, or a password and an authenticator code. Sensitive actions ask again.

  • Encrypted backups and receipts

    Backups and receipt files are encrypted in the app with AES-256-GCM before they are stored.

  • Agents, audited and revertible

    Every change an agent makes is logged with its before and after. Undo one agent's work without touching yours.

  • Yours to take

    Export everything as JSON or CSV at any time, and restore it from the export.

  • A quiet website

    This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. The waitlist keeps your email and nothing else.

What happens to your email

We keep your email address, when you joined and confirmed, and a hashed copy of the confirmation code. We use it only to tell you about Valnook opening up, sent through our email provider, Resend. No cookies, no analytics, never shared or sold.

Sign-up is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that you're human without tracking cookies. An address that isn't confirmed is deleted after 7 days, and every email has a link that deletes yours at once.
